Miriam Beckles
Please join UCF Human Resources in congratulating the newest USPS Employee of the Month (EOM) for July 2019: Miriam Beckles. A UCF employee since 2014, she is an Administrative Assistant in the College of Science, Chemistry Department. Miriam’s nominators, Kurt Lorenz and Cherie Yestrebsky, had this to say about her:
“In a department that has 57,000 student credit hours per year, Miriam is an exemplary employee who regularly supports department growth and development. She is creative in developing new protocols to more efficiently save money while still helping our students progress toward their career goals.”
“She gives freely of her time to help and advocate for students. She provides one-on-one support with class overrides, chemistry placement exam support, course/program advisement, and regular support helping students find research advisors. Miriam’s ability to guide student through our program; and to supportive and relevant research experience produces future professional success and fosters future partnerships.”
As USPS Employee of the Month, Miriam receives a $200 cash award, $25 from UCF Business Services and UCF Bookstore, her name in lights on the UCF campus marquee, and an introduction to the Board of Trustees. She is now eligible for the USPS Employee of the Year $2,500 award, announced at the UCF Annual Awards Program.
