Important Update for New Employees
New Employee Orientation
Effective with the launch of Workday on July 1, 2022, new (line) hires must enroll in a New Employee Orientation (NEO) session on their first day of work. You should select the NEO session closest to your start date.
IMPORTANT! If the closest orientation date falls after the beginning of the next month (e.g., your start date is September 28 and the closest NEO date is October 7) and you would like your medical benefits to be effective on the first of the month following your start date (e.g., October 1), please contact benefits@ucf.edu to arrange a one-on-one benefits appointment as soon as possible. While the HR Business Center (HRBC) is not required to select a NEO date on behalf of the employee, the HRBC can assist you in self-enrolling by guiding you through the Workday Learning Catalog and showing you where to select an available session on or after your hire date. Note that employees must be active in Workday to access this functionality.
New Employee Orientation is provided face-to-face in University Tower, 12201 Research Parkway, Room 211. A parking permit is required at all UCF locations. New hires are eligible for a two-week parking pass from Parking Services by visiting the Visitor and Parking Information Center and providing a note from their supervisor on UCF letterhead with their name and start date. Alternatively, a virtual daily permit can be purchased online.
Orientation is held every payday Friday with additional dates in August to accommodate new faculty hiring. Each face-to-face session runs from 8:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m. See the face-to-face agenda here. Participants may arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 if they would like to have their UCF ID Card photo taken.
Note: To accommodate the volume of incoming faculty, the August 2023 sessions will be held virtually via Zoom in a four-hour format. Sessions are scheduled on August 11, 16, 18, and 25.
