The University of Central Florida offers employees a variety of insurance, retirement and miscellaneous benefit plans, including pre and post-tax options. Insurance plans include health, life, dental, hospitalization, cancer/intensive care, accident disability and long-term disability.
Retirement plans include the defined-benefit Florida Retirement System (FRS) Pension Plan and defined-contribution FRS Investment plan. Contributions for both of these plans are paid in full by UCF. The FRS Pension Plan has a funding ratio exceeding 100 percent and is the 4th largest public pension plan in the United States. UCF also offers a 2nd defined contribution plan to all A&P and faculty, the Optional Retirement Program (ORP). As with the FRS plans, all contributions are made by UCF.
Although contributions to all 3 of these plans are made by UCF, employees also have the option to contribute on a voluntary basis to a 403(b), ROTH 403(b) and/or 457 Deferred Compensation plan.
Additionally, UCF offers employees miscellaneous benefits such as tuition assistance, health & wellness resources and an employee assistance program.
