The Office of Human Resources (HR) welcomes you to the University of Central Florida!
We are delighted that you have chosen to become a part of a dynamic team of individuals
who are committed to excellence. We sincerely hope that your employment experiences with
the University will be both pleasant and rewarding. To ensure a smooth new employee sign-in
process and enrollment in benefits, please carefully read the following information from
our HR Payroll Section and our HR Benefits Section regarding completion of payroll documents
and the New Faculty Benefits & Payroll Orientation schedule.
Benefits Information
For employees who desire a September 1, 2008, coverage effective date, Friday, August 22
is the deadline for submitting the health insurance enrollment form and personal check/money order. Employees who submit their
health insurance enrollment forms after the August 22 deadline will be subject to the next available
coverage effective date.
October 1, 2008, is the earliest possible coverage effective date for Life and Supplemental
insurance, including Basic & Optional Life Insurance, Dental, Hospitalization,
Cancer/Intensive Care and Disability plans.
Insurance brochures are available on the HR Website under Benefits > Insurance.
Information on retirement plans is available on the HR Website under Benefits > Retirement.
All employees have 60 days from their date of hire
to enroll in insurance benefits. After the 60-day deadline, the
next available enrollment period for most benefits plans will be
during Open Enrollment, which is held in the Fall (September to
October). The coverage effective date for employees who enroll in
benefits during Open Enrollment will be January 1, 2009.
