The PeopleSoft Payroll System (PS) is a decentralized payroll system
that allows departments to process and make adjustments to employees
hours worked, record overtime, and process any leave or compensatory
time used during the certifying pay period. Two people are involved
in the payroll process, the processor and the authorizer. The processor
is responsible for entering certification hours and recording the
appropriate leave transactions for the pay period. The authorizer
is responsible for reviewing each transaction entered by the processor
for accuracy, and approving the payroll.
New payroll processors and authorizers must complete an online
training webcourse based on the user role that is needed. Each webcourse
contains detailed payroll information and assessments that must
be passed with a100% score to unlock the next sequential chapter.
After webcourse completion, the Human
Resources Security Request Form must be completed and submitted
to Payroll Services to obtain user role access. Once the security
form is processed by Payroll Services, you will be notified that
your security access has been granted.
