Faculty members are afforded an opportunity to enroll in all insurance,
retirement and other benefit programs that are available to UCF
employees. Most plans/programs have a specific enrollment period.
All new employees are encouraged to attend New
Employee Orientation. Sessions are held every other week and
address issues relevant to employees. Areas addressed include:

Retirement Plans
Other Benefits Programs
During the fall, a special New
Faculty Orientation is held for new faculty and adjuncts who are
transferring to an insurance-eligible position.
REMINDER for 9-10 month faculty members:
Health & Life Insurance Rates -
Faculty who are on less than 12-month contracts are reminded
that health, life, and pretax supplemental deductions (excluding flexible spending accounts) are generated
at a single deduction rate from August through January. Beginning
with the first biweekly paycheck in February through the first
biweekly paycheck in May, deductions are doubled to ensure uninterrupted
service throughout the summer. Deductions resume at regular rates
in September.
NOTE: Any faculty who are on less than a 12-month contract, and
who are scheduled to work during summer months, will still be subject
to double insurance deductions. If an employee is paid during summer
months, insurance premiums will not be deducted from his/her summer
paychecks.
