Employee of the Month
Please join us in congratulating our newest USPS Employees of the Month for January and February 2015, Barbara Sherwood (January ) and Christine Tangel (February).
Our January winner, Barbara is an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services. Among the many attributes that Barbara brings to her role some highlights are how she has “embarked on projects and initiatives such as CAPS Open House, the Animal-Assisted Therapy Dog, Healing Arts Exhibition and implementation of new satellite offices.” Lastly, Barbara is a born leader who “motivates others”.
Our February winner, Christine is a Senior Purchasing Agent within UCF’s Division of Purchasing. Christine’s nominators describe her as having “initiative that is unmatched”. Christine loves to stretch herself by growing in her role; an example is her completion of “an 8-week online course in Contract Administration”. Lastly, Christine was given authorization to complete “Invitations to Negotiate” which are highly complex.
We’d like to thank these outstanding employees for their dedication and hard work. We’d also like to recognize their nominators who took the time to recognize outstanding efforts among their colleagues.
In addition to a one-time $200 cash award, a UCF Business Services (on campus vendor) $25 gift certificate, introduction to UCF’s Board of Trustees, marquee announcement, goody bag, certificate and surprise presentation, Christine now eligible for the USPS Employee of the Year award, which is announced annually at the Employee Awards Program.
